Back to Blog!

Standard

I start things up with a lot of enthusiasm and drive, but a few days into it and I simply can’t keep up. I either get busy with something else, am too lazy or don’t have any motivation.

I am back to blog and I hope I can stick to it this time.

Things have changed a lot!

It’s been three years for me and my family to have settled in the UAE. Hubby changed several jobs during these three years. I started working out-of-home the second year and changed my job this year when I got a better offer. We had babysitting issues the past few weeks, eventually my mom had to fly in to watch my kids for a month, while both I and hubz are at work. She will leave in two weeks time and that’s when my MiL will fly in, to take over.

Grateful for Grandmas!

About abgeeney

I am a Pakistan expatriate in the UAE, mother of two lovely kids and working full-time as a Social Media Marketer. In addition, I have a small home-owned business which I absolutely love. I sell used-books! Given the fact that I am a professional Social Media Marketing specialist, you’d think I’d be better at keeping up my personal blog, but unfortunately I am not.

  1. After replying to the ‘furnishings’ entry , I happened to read your ‘about me’ section and your new blog entry.
It’s def great to have mums’ help around 🙂
Though I don’t have kids as yet but have seen my friends in a similar situation.
Also, you mentioned you work in a University.. Do u teach? Where are you based?
My background is in banking but have been contemplating getting into the education sector for awhile now and thought it might be a good time to venture into something new here!
Will be great if you could share details / websites which can be helpful with such jobs.

    Thanks 🙂

  2. Hi Aditi,
I do not teach. I work in the administration. And I am based in Ajman.
I took me about a year, to find the right job. If you are based in Dubai, it should be easier for you because during my job hunt, I got several offers in Dubai but the commute was an issue. I wanted something closer to home.
I used several websites for the job hunt, but the ones that proved to be most useful were bayt.com and linkedin. I got more interview calls from these two than anywhere else. However, the job I finally ended up was advertised on dubizzle.com. So don’t underestimate the more generic advertisement portals like dubizzle, gulfnews etc.
